Drbruce Posted January 25, 2020 Share Posted January 25, 2020 I bought a few sv mags on this forum a while back. I have used sv mags in my sti guns before and currently. Thses mags do not "seat" in -- mag release does not catch them. I have tried them in several pistols and they do work in any of them. Rob1125 Posted January 25, 2020 Share Posted January 25, 2020 Older SVI mags are compatible with STI. Newer magazines are slightly different dimensions and do exactly as you described. My gunsmith made a slight modification to my frame so it would work with the newer mags (and the old ones). woodrow Posted January 25, 2020 Share Posted January 25, 2020 I remember seeing a thread about the frame cut here a coupla years ago. Search for it. It had pictures of the cut. Aircooled6racer Posted January 26, 2020 Share Posted January 26, 2020 Hello: Look to see if the mags are catching on the grip nuts inside the frame. Use a Sharpie marker to mark the magazine to see where it is touching the frame or nuts. Dykem blue works well for this as well if you have any.
