13 lb .45 Recoil Spring in .40 gun?

Yes it’s the same length 5inch. I figured it would be the same but was curious why the package said .45 acp and made me wonder if there actually was a difference. Thanks.

I think all of the springs actually say that. But, a 13 pound spring is in fact just a 13 pound spring

Yes you can use it

I run 11 or 12 lbs 1911 springs in my 40's

Wolff springs Have it typed under the heading.

45 1911 colt etc etc etc

Then sometimes it will say also for 9/38 super

 

But those 1911 springs will work in any 1911 as long as the length is correct. (Govt, commander, officer etc)

you should also check for spring bind.

Insert spring on the guide rod and compress GR head all the way to the dust cover.

If it stops short, cut a coil at a time until it hits the dust cover
