Recommendations for loads for Black Bullets International and Blue bullets

Hello, I am brand new to reloading and looking for some recommendations and and load data to use for 147gr FP Black Bullet International (BBI) and 147gr blue bullets both RN and FP. I have Ramshot Silhouette and Accurate #7 powders, losing mixed brass with CCI 500 primers. Intended for 9mm minor for USPSA.

I called BBI and asked their recommendations and he said those powders would not get best results and recommend a shotgun powder.
Just looking for a little guidance if anyone has good load recipe with what I have or a powder they would recommend for those bullets.

Thanks!

Those powders you have aren't optimum if you're loading for minor, but they'll certainly push a bullet out.

You say you'll be loading for USPSA.  So, for loading for minor you'll want to find a powder with a faster burn rate.  There are many options.  Look for Titegroup, Sport Pistol, N320, etc.

If you take a look at my recent posts, I posted a bunch of load data using mostly 147gr coated bullets and titegroup powder. There are a couple loads with 124/115gr bullets also.

I started with power pistol when I started reloading, but as I moved to 147, I switched to Titegroup and have really enjoyed it. It’s available almost everywhere, uses a small charge weight (pay attention to your cases after powder and watch out for double charges, which will not overflow the case), and can be found for about $135 on powder valley. If you wait for free hazmat/shipping it comes out to $0.007/charge.

Hope this helps

This is my load with Blue Bullets. My goto powder for 9mm and 40 is Alliant Sport Pistol. Meters very well, clean and is plenty accurate. This load will get me a 2” group at 25 yards with a rest.

Since it appears that you have a source for Western Powders, I would recommend AA No 2. Really surprised that it gets so little mention on this forum. It has the flexibility to load many cartridges very effectively from .38 Sp. to .45 ACP target loads. It is insensitive to powder positioning in the case like TiteGroup. It does not, however, create the very high flame temperatures of TiteGroup. I've been using No 2 with the RMR In-House 124 gr. JHP at 127 PF with a Standard Deviation of 5 FPS. If someone really thinks they need a softer shooting load, then obviously, it ain't recoil that hampers their accuracy. I'll also mention that since Hodgdon Clays is no longer available from the original exporter, ADI in Australia, Ramshot Competition has proven to be a worthy replacement.😉

I like shooters world clean shot. Feels alot to me like N320 and alot cheaper. I have read posts on here where people have directly tested clean shot and n320 and thinks it provides even a better feeling pistol to shoot.

Agreed. I use Clean Shot for PCC & Carry Optics and has the lowest Std Dev I've recorded. Meters excellent as well.

Clean shot 3.6 gr, 147 blue bullets round nose, cci 500  primers, and plunk test in your gun for length. I get about 130 power factor.

If new to reloading, get a chrono ASAP!  Best investment to realize your results for each adjustment you make.

3.4gr of Cleanshot under a 147gr rn blue @ 1.12 put me at 134pf from my G17. Cleanshot is virtually if not identical to AA#2.

Titegroup or Bullseye at 3.2gr worked well also, slightly lower powerfactor.

I've since gone to lighter bullets most of the time, cheaper, and seem more accurate with less development.

I moved to Black Bullets.  I am using a 125 grain swc and I need to know what the completed cartridge overall length should be?  ...and if anyone is using unique powder, what is a safe charge? ...and last if not least, is there some place on the internet I can get this data for 9 mm luger?
