jschroep
So I had some issues with my grip safety on my RIA 1911. The grip safety was not functioning and still allowed the gun to be fired when the grip safety was not depressed. I tried fixing it but that went poorly. I know I'm gonna need to get a new one. Are the replacements just drop in and your good to go or do they need to be tuned. I don't wanna end up in the same spot I'm in now.
Joe4d
there are different radius cuts on different 1911, so a couple different basic grip safeties out there, Also RIA are known to be out of spec in various areas, Also any grip safety will be over sized in areas,, So they can be fit.. SO no odds of it being drop in are slim and none
ltdmstr
On a new grip safety, you'll need to fit the arm that protrudes inside the frame to block the trigger bow from moving back. Not sure what you did to try fix the stock part, but if you didn't remove any metal, you should be able to get it to work. That's assuming it worked from the factory. If you did remove metal, you might be able to peen the end and get it to work. Depends on what you removed and where.
