ironman5669
I currently load 9mm on one of my 650's, but i'm diving off in to Open class with a 38 SC gun, im wondering if any of my 9mm parts are compatible ( shell plate, pins etc) or do i need a full set of dies and caliber conversion kit? Thanks in advance?
Aircooled6racer
Hello: You will need dies for sure. The 223 shell plate will work if you load 223 already. The pins are the same if I remember correctly. The green funnel for the case feeder which is the same as 9mm. Thanks, Eric

outerlimits
dillon recommends shell plate #3 for 223, not #5.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Yes, you have to use the #3 shell plate for 38 super/SC, 380 and 223. Thanks, Eric
Hi-Power Jack
I hate to be "that guy", but you should have stayed with 9mm Major and Minor - very easy to change back and forth.

With 2 toolheads it is literally a 1 minute change between 9 and 38SC
Aircooled6racer
Hello: I think Jack was just thinking of the cost of 38 brass over the cost of 9mm range brass. Thanks, Eric
dons
Just started to load 38 Super Comp on my 650. I found the same shell plate and pins (#5 and #3) I use for 9mm work fine for Super Comp. 800 rounds so far with no problems. YMMV.
TRPOperator
I am working on loading 38 SC what dies does everyone use in their setup?
earthshine402
The only thing I change to load 38SC is a .223 shell plate, and of course the toolhead with appropriate dies.Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Thanks, I do have a 223 setup so the shell plate wont be an issue. I was more talking about which sizing die seat die etc do people prefer. what load are you running? Thanks

Nevadazielmeister
I have reloaded about 20,000 rounds of 38 Super Comp on the Dillon Carbide dies. They work great and they also qualify for the Dillon NO BS guarantee. The ammunition I use is very accurate (think steel hits out to 250 yards).
