mwray
have you tried using different primers?Nope but any small rifle primer would work. I just use the 450s to help lower the SD. That load in my ballistic advantage barrel will shoot a little bug hole all day
cjmill87
I used to shoot 25.5 grains Varget under the 69s for the 200 yard stages of an Across the Course (Highpower) match. This was in a 20", 7.7 twist barrel. More accurate for me than 75s or 77s but did not buck the wind as well. I also used Wolf Small Rifle Magnum primers but I don't know if those are even available anymore.

cjmill87
Hopefully links to other forums are kosher but here's some discussion from around the time I was shooting them. I, like others, found that the thicker cup of the magnum primer helped reduce the occurrence of pierced primers. May not be a concern for you at all depending on your application. http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/wolf-small-rifle-magnum-primers.3798723/
fbzero
When I was testing charges, the "accuracy load" from an old Sierra manual is what ended up being the most accurate for me. 25.3gr Varget, LC brass, Rem 7 1/2 SRP @ 2.260 OAL, no crimp. nikdanja
I’m seeing a trend, at least 25+ grains. Looks like I’ll need a little more powder if it works out!
MJinPA
I’m seeing a trend, at least 25+ grains. Looks like I’ll need a little more powder if it works out! I load 25.2 of varget. Have you tried RL15?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I read back in the day in a Sierra book that variety was the best in town. I just forgot where they said to start st for load data.
NateTSU
Benchmark has worked great for me from a 18” barrel, for a 26” bolt bun I loaded 25gr of Varget.
RGA
25.0 Varget with a CCI 400 or BR4 primer in Lapua brass. +1 on the wind bucking comment.
