S&W 25-5 4 inch 45 colt

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

I bumbled across one of these ( a shooter version, something I've been dying to find to pack around) on Gun Poker.  I don't know if it has a roll pinned front sight or a DX quick change style?  I'm hoping for the DX, though its not a death sentence if its a pin.

Thanks!

Jason

Its most likely pinned.  My 625-6 .45 Colt was pinned.  I don't know that I've ever seen a DX sight on a .45 Colt Smith.  Not that they may not have made them but I don't recall ever seeing one.

ps:  Enjoyed meeting and shooting with you Saturday.  Thanks for your patience and advice!

Grab the front sight, if it moves front to back it's not pinned.

Buddy had one and shot it with 45 acp's and Ranch Moon Clips, with no machining.

Always wanted one also!

It was nice to meet you as well!  Thanks for letting me try your Super GP 100!

I don't recall ever seeing a S&W revolver with roll pinned sight.

Plenty of solid pins out there, some of them polished over so smooth it is hard to tell they are there.

A DX sight can be identified by the hole in the front of the ramp.
