Red dot for home defense shotgun (Keltec)

I have a Kel-tec KSG, and planning to pot a red dot on it. Do you have any suggestions? Is using red dots that are used for pistols, such as delta point pro, or rmr good idea? I am seeing people using once with larger window.

I generally use DPP’s and RMR’s on my long gun’s. I recently picked up a couple Vortex Venoms for cheaper projects. 

 

Really any red dot works.  You don’t need a big window if you shoot with both eyes open and have a good natural point of aim. The dot just comes into view while your aiming just like the front sight should.

At home defense distances, you're much better off putting a good light source on a shotgun and just using the beads or aiming down the barrel.  A light and laser is better, but don't get too carried away with the light source, too many lumens and the reflected light off the walls will blind you as well.
