Derdang
Just found out that my swage rod broke on my Dillon. Didn’t think it was set up that bad for it to brake at the point. Anyone know of a good replacement swage rod?
Chris777
Have not needed a replacement, but I would first call Dillon for a replacement, likely give you one for free or try the Fast & Friendly Brass version. http://fastandfriendlybrass.com/shop/item.aspx/ffb-large-primer-swage-rod-for-dillon-1050-v2/50/
helocat
I broke mine as well, exact same brake at the ID threads. Dillon sent me a new one at no charge. As a machinist and product designer, its a very weak design with the wall thickness so thin at the root of the threads. However this maybe intentional as a designed fuse to fail if bound up. Do you know why yours broke?
shred
FWIW, Dillon redesigned the swage rod for the soon-to-be-released-really-we-mean-it-this-time RL1100, so I'd guess more than a few people had issues with it..

As far as I know it was set up right and working fine, it just let go all of a sudden. Way way weak like I said earlier with the root of the thread thickness to the wall crazy thin. ClayBuster
My Dillon rod broke in the same spot pretty early on, I replaced it with the F&F version years ago and it's still going strong.
