Lucreau
Not sure if the right sub forum. But I want to get my nitro fin bead blasted to match my PT safeties and SVI grip. Seeing if any member does it or who offers it? thanks
Hawk21
If you already have a compressor you could grab a hopper feed blast gun from Harbor Freight for under $20 and knock it out in no time. What is your grip coated with? I ask because here is blasted vs hard chrome....

Same tone as the safety on the left
Lucreau
Any idea what grit of media it takes to get that finish?

And that’ll give that same finish? I appreciate the help! i can’t remember if the nitro fin is hard chromed or just polished, but if it’s chromed will it break through that? Yes garnet would produce an identical look to the photo above. If you crank up the psi yes it would eventually take the chrome off..... regulate the pressure down and make quick passes to start in an effort to not completely remove the original coating. I am a lefty so not familiar enough with nitro fins to know their coating. Good luck

kk4364
I did the matte finish on this slide with the $20 sand blasting gun from hf. Also did the flats on sides and the front stirrup area, I thought it turned out great. For my cabinet I used a box cut out a big hole for plexiglass and opened up the sides for access. I used glass bead media, gave a nice finish. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
