Silicone carbide grip grit question

Recommended Posts

I found some 36/40 grit that seems to match skate tape pretty well,  I'm not a big fan of the super chunky stuff you see lots of guys using, the finer git is still plenty grippy for me without being uncomfortable.

The Talon grit tape seems to be close to 60 grit SC when applied to a 320 frame, at least in my experience

I like the #36 and have done a few, one done over after #60 at first.  You will find the SI grit over epoxy sharper and grabbier than any stick on, as there is no coating over it.  The actual size of the Talon tape grit might be the same but its not as grippy.   If you want to cut your own go to Home Depot and get a safety stair tread stick on, larger grit than any tape.  All of this stuff eventually comes loose on the edges on a poly gun from squeezing it in the hot weather, why I went to the SI / epoxy.
