"Big hands" magwell with small hands?

Got a simple question: Recently got a new open gun that has a "big hands" version of the Dawson heavy magwell.  I don't actually have big hands, and this magwell doesn't seem to lock my hand in like the regular Dawson on my previous gun did, but I can't tell if that's really affecting my shooting.  Should I keep it or ditch it?

Tough question to answer... will provoke subjective answers, in the end it will come down to your personal preference and how you like your equipment to feel. Magwells typically aren't that expensive; perhaps get an alternative and try it out in practice. There's a pretty active after market here for whichever becomes excess.

I don't see why it would affect your shooting, but if you like the regular Dawson then just swap it out.

Sounds like you prefer the normal, so swap it.

Same situation for me.  Bought a used gun from a guy with huge hands, where mine are smaller.  Wound up changing out the arched mainspring housing and magwell to make the gun fit my grip better.  Also shortened the long trigger.

 

Swap it out is my vote.

I think it is personal preference.  I have giant hands and generally prefer less of a "big hands" specific magwell.
