Zev slide legal in co?

Recommended Posts

It has been a few years since I shot uspsa, and the rules and divisions seem to have changed alot.  Is a zev omen slide legal on a glock in carry optics? Also is the zev mag release legal?  I have searched these topics but found conflicting answeres.

Aftermarket slides are legal as long as they are the same length/contour as stock. So for example, any aftermarket glock 17 slide is legal on a G17... but the same slide wouldn't be legal on an OEM G34... because it's not the same as OEM length.

Mag release is legal too

How would they prove it's a 34 frame vs 17?

Exactly. Our rulebook is full of gold nuggets like this

Well. A far easier task (recognizing CZ hammers) got all external aftermarket racehammers, racemagbuttons, racethumbrests, and racetriggers declared legal in Production. 🙄

I guess next we’re gonna get aftermarket raceframes. Thanks so much for pointing the obvious out.

😁😂

“There ain’t nothing stock about a stock car”.

Synonymous to that is...

“There ain’t nothing production about a production gun.”

Putting a G17 slide on an oem g34 frame is no different than putting a p320 slide on a x5 frame. A g34 is production legal and so is a g17 so if you want to swap frames no problem in the rules with that. That’s how the CZ shadow came to be in the first place, taking the frame of one legal gun and mixing the slide of another legal gun before it became its own oem offering.

I'm saying the slides you referenced are of the same length as the OEM/original slide. In the G17-G34 example, the slides are different lengths - which the rulebook calls out specifically.

Either way, we've ventured off the topic of this thread.
