Big Guy
Have an older open gun that I would like to tighten up a bit and thinking of going the Acc-U-Rail way. Any thoughts?
HIREDgun45
I believe that back in the day when tightening/peening the rails was the common method used, accurails were the way to go. Now I think most 1911 gunsmiths do a weld up and remachine the rails for a perfect fit. One of my older high round count guns has accurails, it's till tight and works great. Now I think it's better to find a good smith to do a weld.
rishii
I’ve done it, it does tighten up the slide to frame fit if you do send it in, have them also refit the barrel
Racinready300ex
Is the gun accurate? If so I wouldn't touch it.
EEH
To me it kills the resale value. But that’s just me. Weld it. but then how much money you want to spend .
