JeffCSR
This is my locking block 9mm CORE 5" Should the MIM injection 'spot' protrude as mine does? Could it interfere with the barrel camming down far enough? I've seen some pics where they look like it's flush and MidwestGunworks photo shows it being recessed. ryan45kim
I’ve seen many locking blocks that are rough in that area. When I’m setting up a new M&P this is an area I always file smooth and polish. This is the camming surface for the barrel so smoothing this area helps smooth the action.
fstbandit
Normal yes, but as @ryan45kim said just do a little smoothing out and it will look way better.

Salsantini
Both of my pistols are like this. It doesn't effect the pistols functioning.
EA308
What seems to be the cause? I looked at mine and it doesn’t have those marks.

I assume the part starts as a casting, so that deformity is probably the sprue cut off. Not hard to round off with a stone. Mark
