UpYoursPal
It's possible. In a pinch, I sometimes shoot factory 9mm out of my 38S gun for steel challenge or if I just don't feel like reloading that week. Is it good for the gun? I'm not sure. But it can be done. Hi-Power Jack
The cases aren't even shaped the same - the SC is straight and the 9mm is tapered. And the 9mm case is shorter, so that it is not fully lodged in the chamber of the SC. I've read here that many have done it, but not much advantage to it, and not 100% proper. dansedgli
Ive shot a few hundred 9mm minor out of my 38 super gun just to see if it worked after reading it on here. Functioned fine except on some rounds that were a bit tight in the chamber due to the tapered case mentioned above. The 9mm is just a bit fatter at the base. Tried it again when I got my 9 major gun. The 9mm major ammo lost 50fps over Chrono in my 38 super gun compared to my 9 but again functioned ok.
Loudgp
Thanks. I know the cases are slightly different . But was it enough to cause major issues If I used 9 at times
