Walther just came out with an extended mag release, part #2841541.

Is this SSP legal?  Far as I know it has not been released on a factory gun.

Then that would be a no, wouldn't it?

8.2.1.2.C is crystal clear about that.

The magazine extends another 5 mm out and is one millimeter larger in diameter. Can be mounted on either side.

not legal

8.1.7.c and in combination with 8.2.1.2c

. An extended magazine release button may not be oversized in diameter or protrude more than 0.2” out from the frame. The measurement is taken at the rear most part of the magazine release, where it exits the frame. When the magazine release area is recessed into the grip frame, the grip frame to the rear of the recess is used as the base of the measurement.

Magazine releases, slide stops, safety levers, de-cocking levers, hammers, and triggers, that are stock on one SSP
legal firearm may be used on another SSP legal firearm from the same manufacturer provided they are drop in
replacements. Parts in this list must come factory installed on standard production firearms. Special parts that
are available installed only from a factory custom shop are not eligible in SSP.

Walther did release the Expert version of SF. It is not available in the US due to liability reasons, no trigger safety. But the extended mag release was not on on it

So I guess the answer remains the same.  The mag release button you asked about is still not approved for SSP.
