Indoor Gun Range - Stories

Recommended Posts

Holes in the tables at the line, holes in the ceiling at the line, holes in the barricade between lanes. I shoot at an indoor range once a week, almost every week (weekly indoor match). For many years, the owner allowed us to shoot steel, as long as it was at least 15 yards from the line. We shot so much steel, the side splatter from hitting the steel actually ate through the concrete block walls where the stands were placed up against them. We routinely broke lights, sometimes 2-4 per match, and had to replace the metal baffles on the the ceiling several times above the 15 yard line. We still shoot every week, but the new owners will not let us shoot steel, only plastic...so we have falling targets made of UHMW, which the bullets pass through.
