Hi-Power Jack
Just got the new American Rifleman - June, 2019. They tested a new gun (subject in itself) with three different rounds - one was a 147 grain from Double Tap - fired in a 4" Glock barrel - hit 1106 FPS (average for 10 shots). They're saying the 147 grain bullet achieved a PF of 162.5, almost Major, in a 4" barrel. No indication of what it felt like when they fired the 25 rounds for accuracy testing. I guess this load could possibly make Major in a 5" or 5.4" barrel ?? Anyone have any experience with Double Tap 147 grain +P load ?
Hi-Power Jack
Sounds like more of a +P+ load than a +P load. Should make new Major shooters feel a little better about loading 9mm to Major.
Beef15
There's some VV powder that has/had data for a 147 at major pf velocities. 3N38 if my quick search was accurate. Not new.
lee blackman
I've had better luck with Autocomp than 3N38 for 9Major. There is plenty of load data on the forum here if you go back and search.
Hi-Power Jack
Kind of nice that there is a factory round that might make Major in a 5" barrel.
