Ive got lead shot for a ghetto version when i find some spare time.  

 

I figure they grind it down and build it back up in layers to get the weight and additional size.  

 

At least if i stuff it up its not a huge loss. 

 

For grip treatment I could see problems getting any real weight, sure. I'd be curious about using in conjunction with a thin adhesive to make a replacement grip weight; sort of like a cold cast statue.
