WhiteDingo
I have a customer looking for base pads for his 18rd MecGar 92 magazines; does anyone know of a flush fit pad? Springer doesn't have anything that'll work, though they tried their best.
Stony Lane
I don't know if this will help, but I just heard that MecGar is now selling magazine components - not just complete magazines. Maybe call them?
WhiteDingo
Thanks. He has the standard base plates for the mags, was looking for machined aluminum weighted pads that will fit the box
polymerfeelsweirdman
Maybe try something made for sig? The sig mecgar mags have a very similar body. Looks like Springer makes sig basepads as is
Tampa-XD45
Would these work for you? https://benstoegerproshop.com/beretta-easy-off-aluminum-extended-base-pad-basepad-by-shockbottle/
WhiteDingo
So far the verdict is that pads for the 15rd magazines leave a gap off the frame, which I am concerned leaves room for over-insertion. The Springer base pads for the 17rd factory magazines do not allow for the MecGar tubes to be seated fully. I was hoping to avoid having to trim the pads, but that may be what needs to happen. Stony Lane
Taran Tacitcal CZ +4 base pads will leave a small gap, however the retaining pin (held in place with a set screw) can be pushed up and locked in to prevent over insertion. Fit in box?
