Title says it all. Looking for a good place to start with a 180 grain bullet. Really don’t want to make 20 trips to the range so if anyone can help a brotha out, that would be awesome

Where did you find this? I can’t find it anywhere

In an older Alliant reloading manual.  Alliant specifically states Promo is a blend of OEM powders that burn at Red Dot speed.  They also specifically state you can substitute Promo for Red Dot in any recipe, grain for grain.

with red dot and coated bullets, I got 170 pf with 4.3 gr and 1.15 oal. use a couple tenths more for plated or jacketed.

Similar results as this for me. Makes major in all of my 40s
