Athleticism is often overlooked. Can't win if you can't move.

This was specifically asking about splits as it was mentioned by many local competitors.

relax your trigger finger more, focus more on coming off the trigger.  make those two changes and your physical ability to shoot quicker splits will increase. it's a simple matter of your human function.

At the moment, I think I can gain much more from having faster splits (at any distance, so a good combination of gun + cartridge becomes important) than by moving faster.

Erick Griffuel says he wins nationals with .25 splits. True story. Ask Steve Anderson

More efficiency of movement than athleticism I'd say. One shooter I compete with outweighs me by over a hundred and fifty pounds. Last match (5 stages) he got me by 36 seconds. He is much faster on splits and transitions and more efficient in movement. for comparison, he is a high A and I am a low B.
