igolfat8
Has anyone any ideas how to quiet down the Dillon case feeder? Mine is really noisy as it rotates cases. I tried wrapping a couple towels around it but that didn’t help quiet it down much.

chumly2071
Saw a guy online put a clear lid from one of his wife's cooking pots on a bullet feeder. It fit just right, was clear so you could see in, and made a huge difference in the noise
Nugget
Ear plugs should help.
Hi-Power Jack
Are all case feeders that noisy ? Or just Dillon's ?
Sarge
I need the noise. When it gets quiet something’s wrong with it. Either jammed or empty.
joelogic
Wasn't there just a thread about this? I bought a 14" disc from a plastics store and spray glued foam from a fabric store. To Sarge's point, my hopper often runs out of cases. But the trade off is I reload into the late hours.
rishii
Put cardboard over the top of it but I’m like the others, when mine gets quite it’s telling me somethings wrong

Intel6
I folded up an old towel and laid it on the top. If it is big enough with enough hanging over the sides it will not interfere with the brass. It keeps the brass noise down and also deadened the noise coming from the sides of the plastic hopper. 340Weatherby
You can see my solution here: Sure, it's still noisy but you are left in peace for 10-20 rounds before hell breaks loose again. I have wrapped my case feeders in: 1. Silent Coat butyl noise dampening mat: https://www.silentcoat.co.uk/collections/frontpage/products/silent-coat-2mm-deadening-mat 2. Closed structure foam mat, something like: https://www.silentcoat.co.uk/collections/isolator Also put a lid on it. Helps also Mr Bulletfeeder noise. RePete
My noise reduction is once the tube is full of cases, I turn off the feeder and when it's almost empty, turn it back on.

This is true, on my hornady before I switched it was very loud. When I finally got my 1050 up and running I was startled by how quiet it was. 340Weatherby
Could even get a foot pedal to turn it on/off. So you can keep your hands where it matters...
igolfat8
I tried putting a tight fitting cardboard lid on top. It did not make much difference in quieting it down. I think most of the noise is coming from the large blue tub itself. I am going to look for some sound deadening foam and try that next.

I use a foot pedal for this, as well as for motorized case trimming. Sometimes I have background TV (The Sopranos) on while I'm reloading or trimming, so the moments of silence in between loudness are good. If I'm listening to music, I don't bother with the foot pedal, and just turn up the music. I do recommend giving this a whirl as a partial solution.
