TimBoettcher
I'd appreciate feedback on this.... I have never shot a steel grip 2011, all have been polymer grips. What is the biggest difference you have felt going from a polymer to a steel grip? Thanks in advance for your reply. Tim
kujo929
Weight. And no flex in grip. I also went from sand paper wrapped sti frame to aggressive PT evo so no need for any type of grip enhancer anymore. 36873687
Put weight in right spot for recoil. If u shooting major makes most powders feel soft. That’s what I get from em
WarBoom
Felt recoil is less due to the increased weight and balance. The PT evo grip is so aggressive I cut my hands up fitting it to the frame.
BallisticianX
Simply the Steel grip adds weight to the gun to absorb recoil energy. It does so by being located in a spot that does not effect the muzzles point-ability or maneuverability as the weight is centralized to the hands vs having the weight forward. In physics terms you added weight to an object with the applied energy (recoil energy) remaining constant. So the heavier object will move or accelerate less under a set amount of force vs a lighter object. With said weight closer to the clamping point (your grip) you dont fatigue the clamping point as you would trying to oppose the leverage effect of weight forward. Fo0
I think only one company makes plastic grips.
