Steve RA
I shot this off a carpet covered 4X4 on an extremely sturdy bench. A Ransom is the ultimate but you can do well off a rigid bench.

Ransom Rest is The Ultimate, but not necessary for load development. Just bench it, and fire slowly and deliberately - see how you do
pjb45
If you are shooting at RIO you can go to the main range and use the rests and sand bags. PB1-4 or TB1-2, you can use the tables. You can set your range bag on the table and use it. I have seen a few range bags with a hole in them. You want a stable no wobble rest. BE talks about shooting from a bench. Read up on it. Do you have a link to a BE summary of the “proper” way to shoot from a bench? EDIT: Found some good instructions here toward the bottom of the page: https://brianenos.com/pages/words Also, this BE post was super helpful: Edited February 9, 2019 by MiWiAu
