18-01 Of Course it Did

Recommended Posts

I shot this 3 times at Nats. I shot it at Temple twice and at Area 59 twice now today. My best is a 4.3191 and that's with a miss, of 89.943%

I started both strings from the left box. For the respective  single hand shooting I worked from outside inward. Total 19.68 seconds. 16-A, 4-C, 3-D, 1-M. So you can throw quite a few crap hits on this one if you're quick.

I shot this last weekend

22.46 time

16 alphas, 8 charlies

4.6304 hit factor

This came out to 96.4% in production

One thing that I ran differently from most of the shooters is that I ran the second string starting from the right side. As a rightie this allowed me to transition to weak hand and be in a better position to face the targets as I get into the left side box. The reload going from right to left is trickier but I think it paid off more than if I ran everything from left to right

I shot this one last month at an all classifier match in PCC. I shot this one 100%, 6.7HF. This is the only 100% I got that day and the only stage I felt was as smooth as I am capable of shooting. I really think that's all it boiled down to. I shot all As and hit the landing and reload. Transitions felt good. It was later in the day and even though I had been practicing weak hand shooting, this was the only stage that it felt "good". I then promptly butchered the next stage.

If I'm reading the description right, isn't it only the second position in the second string that's weakhand? So you could shoot the first box and reload stronghand, and then transition to weakhand for the second box?

Yep, if memory serves, that is correct.

ETA: I looked it up real quick and yes, you are correct. I have been using a technique where I am seating the magazine with my left hand as normal but maintain grip of the magazine and use it to transition the gun to my left shoulder. Right hand goes to the handguard, then left hand moves to grip.
