DeMello, age 45, passed away at home on Monday, December 10, 2018. He was the loving son of David and Denne (Burns) DeMello. Born in New Bedford, Ian was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1991 and later attended Bristol Community College where he was taking courses in Business Management. He was co-owner of NBC Distributers, working side by side with his father for the last 27 years. Ian loved his family dearly; he was an avid fisherman and received many Ice Fishing State pins over the years. He also was a Competition Master Class Open shooter and a member of the United States Practical Shooters Association (USPSA). In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his loving sister, Kristine Rogers and her son, Clayton Rogers both of S. Dartmouth; and many, many, many friends. He was the grandson of the late James “Lenny” and Elizabeth Burns and Dr. Joseph and Anna DeMello. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth Street, South Dartmouth, MA 02748, followed by his burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rte. 6, New Bedford, MA 02740. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., in Waring-Sullinan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., South Dartmouth, MA 02748.
