Recommend me some upgrades to a Dillon1050

I'm getting a like new Dillon 1050 sent to me.  I'm not a commercial reloader, but will be loading a lot of pistol calibers on it.  Probably 9mm and 38 short colt.  223 a little later on as well.  Anyway, I know there's a bunch of nice upgrades to the 650 and 550 presses that help them run smoother and function better.  What would you recommend to help that out?  I'm not talking about Mr. Bulletfeeder or Mark 7's.  The items I'd like to see are items that help the press run smoother or more efficient, etc.  Some may be small and some may be big helps on the press.  Let me know where I can find them if possible.

Thanks!!

Mr. Bullet feeder & mark7 are what you need.... the 1050 is built more solid than the 650-550. It comes ready to go... maybe a spent primer chute but it doesn’t need any what I call “eBay upgrades” to run “smoother.”

But I know that you weren’t looking for Mr. Bulletfeeder and Mark 7.

I would suggest getting the Specialty Guide Rod Kit.

It makes the tool head have less play.

I also suggest the primer catcher kit. You don’t want to worry about changing the cup when you are cranking out your ammo.

I suggest the casefeed stop to keep the brass from loading when you are adjusting things.

I suggest the 2x powder hopper tube. When you are loading 223, the standard powder hopper has to be refilled constantly.

If you are going to add a trimmer to prep your 223 brass, I suggest that you get extra blades to make sure you get good cuts each time.

That upgrade is intended for autodriven presses and deletes the return spring that holds the toolhead up when you've released the handle.

Instead I'd suggest Level10's improved toolhead return spring and cup: Dillon's spring needs replaced every few thousand rounds when the spring has set and the handle droops when you let go of it. Even the revised Dillon spring and cup aren't nearly as strong / smooth as L10's.

Add the primer catcher tube, run it into a trash bin on the floor under the bench.

A light and a mirror on the power station; it's in the back on the 1050, which makes visual powder level confirmation much more of a chore than on a 650 where it is up front.

And I'm a big fan of the FFB shellplate I installed on my press in 9mm. Much beefier, with less wobble in the cases when they index to the next station,
