orangeman711
Anybody having problems with Benelli barrels leading up when using Ranger 1oz. slugs? Both of my Benelli's seem to lead up really bad after 20 slugs and 50 bird shot or more at 3gun matches. Thanks for the info.
BradfromND
Are you sure it's lead and not the plastic wad melting into the barrel? Mine gets wad buildup because of the long strings of fire and how hot we get them. Lucas Oil extreme duty bore solvent dissolves it better than anything else I've found. orangeman711
No it's lead. Patch comes out with lead on it continiously. I use everything imaginable, Hoppe's, RB17, and everything else I have and it's just a chore to get it all out.
carharttfarmer
A tornado style bore brush on a cleaning rod and a drill works best
orangeman711
Thanks carharttfarmer. I've tried that. No matter what I use it takes me 20-30 minutes to get all the lead out.
Don_B
Try a Lewis Lead Remover. Basically it is an attachment for the cleaning rod that has a brass patch on it that you pull through the barrel. Gets the heavy stuff out pretty quickly.
lefty o
something is not right. you should not get lead in the bore from shooting shot. the shot is enclosed in the wad until it leaves the barrel.
ltdmstr
Get some of this stuff, cut it into a large patch and wrap it around a brush. Removes lead in a flash.

Cut it into about 1/2" strips. Wrap it around the brush. Put the brush on a cleaning rod. Put the rod into a vise with most of it sticking out. Run your barre up an down the rod. Turn the barrel around to do the choke end. Done!
