9146gt
ashley.gowland@hpwhite.com is the contact that I have. Cost is $650 for up to 30 cartridges of the same caliber. Need to follow up on how to ship the test samples. Tom

I tired 15 rnds of 9.4 gr AA7 w/124 PD JHP @1.160". I feel it may have been slightly flatter than 7.0 gr WAC. It seemed a lot dirtier and I've read that it doesn't meter as well due to being finer and that causing issues with the powder bar. Seems like WAC is so popular because it meters very well, doesn't fill the case, and is fairly clean.

All that is nice, but how does it shoot? Cycle? Recoil? How's the dot movement? These are why I use HS6, AA7, 3n38, etc. (depending on the gun). Performance beats convenience. And all of these can be loaded just fine (including 3n38 in 9 major).

I'm very impressed with the accuracy out of this gun! It shoots WAC very well! Dot movement and recoil are issues I'm not sure what's realistic. Recoil, what are these supposed to be able to do? Should I be able to do .14 splits and keep the bullets together? Or is .18 more realistic? I'm able to pull the trigger fast enough and have the two holes be 4" apart vertically. Dot movement?.. you mean up and down? Or is the important thing a straight line up and down? I'll say my WAC load does seem to have a little left and right to it. But I'm not sure that's due to WAC since I don't have any experience with any other powder. Also, not sure how much of that is from me applying inward pressure with my grip. I'll say I feel I can do spits a tad faster than I could with 9 minor out of my G34. Is it alot no. But it's major. It is a very personal decision - performance, or convenience ? I have chosen convenience - I started with 115 gr bullets over HS6, and switched to WAC and 124 gr - just because it's easier (more convenient). Kneelingatlas has provided new info, for me at least - I did not realize that 3n38 will make Major and NOT be an overload. And, that WAC is probably The Worst (most overloaded) of all the usual powders used to make 9mm Major. That is all Great info, and my personal hat off to Kneelingatlas for the insight. Now (actually as soon as my cache of WAC runs out), I am going to have to rethink my choice of convenience vs SAFETY and possibly performance. Hopefully, by the time I run out of WAC, someone will have come up with The Perfect powder for 9mm Major - FAST, compact and clean, and meters well. noylj
OK, smarty, I have still NEVER seen Winchester Auto Comp on a shelf. If folks don't see it, they can't buy it.

I always buy components in large quantities - via mail order. No problem to buy 8 lb containers of WAC, along with primers and bullets. I've never even looked for powder in local shops - think I saw some at a gun show one time and the price was Extravagant
Matt1
I love WAC. Before I found it I actually stopped shooting Open because I was sick of the issues I was having reloading using the other powders at hand (compressed loads, coke bottled rounds, bullets push-out etc).WAC solved all those things. Granted, I live in Australia so choices are limited. We can’t get 3N38 anymore. I’ve never seen any of the other powders discussed in this thread here. It’s either WAC or ADI AP100Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
