wdfwguy
I've only loaded coated bullets in the year or so I've been reloading. But I just picked up a ton of 124gr FMJ bullets (Hornady and Win). I only have HP38 and Sport Pistol at the moment, but I'm not opposed to trying something new. And I'm due to order some more powder anyway. Oh, I'm shooting carry optics with a CZ Shadow.
Hi-Power Jack
Nothing wrong with HP38 - I've been using it for decades
stick
I've been using Titegroup for years. Readily available and fairly cheap with good results.
usmc90
HP-38/231 is great 9mm powder. My next choice if you wanted a smooth shooter also is WSF.
George16
I’ve been shooting 124 FMJ bullets from RMR using Winchester 231 on my shadow 2 and TSO. Works really well. I load 4.1 Gr @ 1.102”OAL for 128-130 PF.

dauntedfuture
Im liking Tightgroup at the moment, about 4g w 124 or 3.2 w 147’s No more Solo 1000 available I dont like w231 as i was getting erratic velocity in .40 loads so i moved on to another 9/.40 powder N320 works well but is harder for me to find

Dwbsig
Both the powders you have should work great at around four grains. You need to do a plunk test to find a good oal.
