FMJ will have exposed lead base. MG covers the base and markets it as a CMJ. Both brands are good bullets.

Hi-Power Jack
The MG, RMR and PD 124 gr JHP's are all good, but the MG's are more expensive. The PD's are good and inexpensive (relatively) but only the RMR's are supposed to double as target and self defense loads. For my money it's 1. RMR 2. PD, and 3. MG. 3gunDQ
I ran Montana Gold JHPs for years, switched to Precision Delta JHP for cost savings.... when buying 30,000 the savings was significant.

I like the idea of the RPR being dual use. I carry Speer gold dot 124 in my main carry magazines. But it would be nice to have all my extra mags loaded as well. How do they perform
Hi-Power Jack
I haven't tried them, personally, but I've read here that they perform well. That said, I do like using different bullets for Minor and Major - makes it easier to distinguish between the two - so I load 147's in my Minor loads and 124's in my Major loads
OPENB
I started buying Everglades Ammo 124 JHP V2. They have a more rounded profile up to the hollow point, feed much better than truncated point JHPs. I think they were very similar in price to PD when I bought 2000. chevrofreak
RMR 124 JHP's expand very well, but for open use they need seated deeper than most other bullets. Precision Delta JHP's are great, and so are the Everglades V2. The Everglades can be loaded the longest.
Ssanders224
While not marketed as a defensive bullet, I’ve heard the Precision Delta 124 JHPs do expand pretty nicely Fired into calibrated 10% ballistic gelatin, through FBI spec “heavy cloth” barrier. 13” of penetration. Bamaboy
I just ordered 3000 RMR JHP's.
pmiya
1 hour ago, Bamaboy said: Why do they need to be seated deeper? The RMR new design has a longer bearing surface with a shorter ogive. I had to reseat my first batch that I had loaded to 1.075" overall length. At that length the bullets were fully contacting the rifling in one of my pistols. Basically they didn't pass the "plunk" test in that pistol.
Steve RA
What does RMR stand for ? I just looked on Rocky Mountain Reloading and they don't seem to have jacketed bullets.
Steve RA
Now I've looked again and the Jacketed HPs popped up. so, skip the previous question. Although their site says that bullet is presently unavailable.

yoshidaex
Not much but use discount code RMRHIRO5 for 5% off your order. I use them for practice and matches. Accuracy at 25 yards is excellent. Feeds nicely and a bargain for a quality jhp.
highhope
I like Hornady bullets 9mm hap 115/125JHP. and PD 124JHP..
accu9
Everglades JHP V2 are unbelievably accurate. I tested their 115gr JHP V2 vs. Hornady 115gr XTP (Not the HAPS) and the Everglades were significantly more accurate. They can be had for 7.5 cents shipped per when they are running promotions - 25,000 rounds later, I will not shoot another bullet.

Did you happen to chrono this round? Be good to know what velocity it takes to get that expansion. Thx!
