HS6 is dirty but works well with 124 gr bullets, and WAC is cleaner

and works well with 115 gr bullets    :)

Jack,,I’ve shot both and can’t tell much difference in either one, as for how dirty the gun is.

The case volume of HS-6 was a negative factor...spillage with my 650.

That's why I switched to WAC and 124 gr bullets.

The 115 gr bullets under a whole case full of HS6 was a PITA to reload.

Same reason I've never tried 3n38 - that's an even fuller case.

If I ever thought that switching to 3n38 would improve my

shooting ability, I guess I'd have to put up with loading very

full cases - but, so far, I have no evidence to suggest that

3n38 would improve my shooting ability to any measurable degree   ….

When I shot a Super Comp, VV350 was popular, before 3n37 and 3n38 came out.  As to 650 spillage, I cut a coil off the ball bearing spring and switched to a polymer ball, now the shell plate doesn't snap into place, Before that, I'd put the bullet on the case at station 3, and ride it over to station 4 to keep it from snapping in place. It was slower, but no spills. I started loading 9 major with WAC recently, and it works fine too. I picked up a pound of AA7 and will experiment with that soon.

Was using AutoComp for a while on a 124gr PD bullet. Earlier this year switched to CFE Pistol.  Had to go .1gr higher charge than autocomp. For me recoil impulse was less and cleaner powder.

A lot people say this is  identical  Powders. I’ve heard different lots of powders will change also

The powder that always gives me the best accuracy regardless of pf- from 150 all the way to 180 has been aa7 and sp2. Hs6 comes next and autocomp comes in last. Autocomp is very accurate in a very limited range of pf in. It’s my open guns.

Maybe a silly question, but do you think that cfe would keep the comp cleaner with coated bullets?

Just want to make sure I'm reading this right. 1.070 COAL?

Seems incredibly short for that amount of powder?

I ran 7.2 (might have to double check that number) but had a COAL of 1.15

I love 6.8 grs Silhouette. Glock 17 Open Gun. 124gr Precision Delta. 1.070” COAL. 1378 FPS. 6.4 SD / 24 ES. 171 PF

Correct. Running a Lonewolf barrel. Very short throat. I have another LW barrel I had reemed out, but haven’t done this one.

I’m sure I could open the throat, stretch it out a little, and get some more powder in there which may help the comp, but it works well for now.
