OptimiStick
Always used Blue, but wanted to give ACME a try with it's .356 sizing. Anyone have any strong preferences for 147 RN vs 145 FP ? Pretty long chamber in my primary, so OAL not really a concern.
Dirty_J
Ive only played around with acme 124's recently. They shot fine. Like the coating... but the weight variance on the 124's I got was pretty significant. Like +/- 3grs. Maybe it was a fluke.. but I'm sticking with blues for now. Especially since they don't turn me blue anymore.
RickT
I've tried both in our 9mm 1911s I'm not sure there is an accuracy difference, but chambering the first round is smoother with the RN. I'd buy a sample pack of each and give them a try. You can weight 10-20 of each and measure the weight variation if that's a concern in your application. Stuey
I have been shooting the Xtreme 147 and shooting the Acme 145. So far the 145 have been great and the price has been cheaper. No complaints from me on the 145’s.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

pcschwenke
I just bought 1k of the 145 Rn lead to try in my XDM 5.25 & S&W 986. Any one have loads using WSF, WST, or TG?
valerko
been using both ,preffer 145s because of shape, but had no issues with 147s
MoonJeong
Th 145s are very accurate with Sport pistol, I load 3 grains for a 128 PF. The 122 grain are very accurate as well for 9mm major.

IDescribe
OP, they're going to perform exactly the same, with different OALs. Either will work well in more or less any pistol. And ACME rocks.

I think they're washing them somehow to remove any extra powder. The last couple boxes I got had a sticker mentioned no more blue fingers.
IDescribe
I just saw on their website -- they're saying their coating is a proprietary liquid polymer blend, not powder coat.
shakin_bakin
I just got a box of Blue's about two weeks ago. I still had smurf fingers... must be very recent! I got my Acme's in to test against the Blue's I've been running. I use Sport Pistol just cause its easy to find.
johnbu
The 145 round nose feed perfectly in all my guns. They also seem very consistent in weight.
shakin_bakin
Just to follow up my previous comment. I got about 750 round nose Blues that I opened up this week. No smurf fingers. The new coating doesn't come off on my fingers.

Seems to shoot the same as before, just a little less messy. Better product, same cost... Me likey!
RocketRyan
New blues are very nice now. The only issue I had with acme was the weight. I ordered 135s but received 131-137, something I don't want to chance with at chrono at a major match.
Livin_cincy
I always weigh out each bullet and sort them when I buy a couple thousand. Then I gently file each one to make them all weigh the same. My brass is already sized, weighed and trimmed to be the same... This is handgun shooting... Load them & have fun shooting them. OptimiStick
Interesting results. Accuracy wise the 145 RNs were a little better than the 147 FPs. But they were smoking heavily in my wifes gun - M&P Core 9L. So I loaded up a batch of Blues 147 RN ( new coating style) and the Acme RN 145s . VV N320 is my powder,I loaded them to the same OAL. I also ran a batch of Montana Gold 147s and did some comparisons. In my 2011 with KKM barrel, no problems - but in the wife's M&P - the Acme's smoked much more heavily than the Blues and MGs. TrackCage
Have shot about 15k ACME 147 FP coated pills in the last 12 months. Have nothing but good things to say, except that rarely... I mean rarely... the coating seems a little thin on the nose
JDIllon
I am going to try 145 RN, I have been shooting 147FN Bayou's. I have also been considering Summers bullets? JD
