happygunner77
My back up stock 2 reset is too far back. When in SA, the trigger is resting far back compared to my main which messes up my splits as I'm so used to my main for more than a year. How can I make the reset more forward? Thanks. happygunner77
Just found out that this adjustment is for over travel. So it must be the sear.

Pre-travel, when you release the trigger the arc on the disco determines how far forward the trigger can travel, that extra forward distance becomes pre-travel on the next trigger pull. Overtravel is usually adjusted with the set screw in your trigger. Somebody else will chime in pretty soon, if I understand what you want to do then I did the same thing not long back, will see if I can find the thread where it was explained to me, or maybe one of the gurus will show up here shortly. happygunner77
Gotcha. So if I want a more forward reset, there needs to be more material on the BOLO arc, right? Edited August 27, 2018 by happygunner77
bulm540
Had a different approach. I replaced my trigger to an extreme trigger and it is positioned more forward than a regular trigger. DA reach is little farther but love the trigger position in SA. Edited August 28, 2018 by bulm540

Are we discussing pre-travel or reset? My Tanfo's always have reset at about the same spot, but I have seen a lot of difference in how far forward the trigger travels after reset. Playing with grinding away material from the arc of the disco will allow you to increase this excess forward travel (which, when taken up while pulling the trigger is the same as pre-travel) if that is the goal. If you want to change the reset spot, let me know how to do it after you find out . I assume that changing trigger shapes would sort of be against your goal of making both guns as similar as possible. When in doubt I wave the white flag and ask the good folks at Patriot Defense. happygunner77
Joe Wilson from PD responded to my inquiries, he said to shave the arc of the bolo to add a pre travel and move the trigger's resting spot at hammer cocked. Here are the difference of the trigger position with the hammer cocked with a difference of 2mm. It was enough to messed me up on splits with I switched to my back up. Red pouch is main, blue pouch is back up. Edited August 29, 2018 by happygunner77

johnbu
The difference could also be from sear cage "slop" between the two guns. The sear cage should be "snug" in the frame.
