Chen Magwell Gen 2 for 1911

I am considering adding a Stan Chen Magwell Gen 2 to one of my 1911s. http://www.chencustom.com/magwells-1 I like the low profile look. I currently use Dawson Precision basepads on all my magazines. Does anyone know if these basepads will fit with that Magwell?

It’s a very nice looking magwell. It seems like a fair amount of modifications to dedicate that one magwell to that gun only. Let me know how well it works.

The beauty of the chen  is that it doesn’t extend the grip at all, ergo it should work with every baseplate put there.

I was considering this magwell on a future gun. I am curious how it would compare to using the Dawson ICE... I have pretty much fell in love with the ICE but the Chen looks so clean.

Yes, they work. I have a Chen2 on a Wilson Combat

I have a Chen Gen II magwell on my Ed Brown 9mm that I use in IDPA ESP. I use McCormick 10 round mags with the Dawson base pads. Since the Chen does shorten the grip a little there is no issue with the base pads. They do stick out a little more because of the shorter grip of the chen, but I like it for positive seating especially in competition.
