SP01 for CO

I have a SP01 I am going to have convert to a CO.  I will have CZC do the upgrade work but I am clueless about what Optic I should put on it.

I am just an average shooter on Social Security = not great eyesight. I shoot Rio Tuesday Night Steel mostly so that means rarely a 50 yrd plates.

I have Holsun on my PCC and like the dot and circle.  But I am not sure if that would be worthwhile on a pistol.

What optic and size dot would be a good choice?

Thanks in advance.

IMHO, go look through some and see what you like. I like the Vortex, and not the Holosun. Each one is a little different, but a lot of them are the same.

JP/Shield SMS.

RMS better, but more expensive.

Lowest and lightest.

I plan on doing the same for IPSC production optics.

Considering the price of the gun and the cost of milling, I think the expense for an RMS is in good proportion.

I use the Vortex Venom with the 3 MOA, but I wish I had the 6 MOA. In really bright sunlight the larger dot is much easier to pickup. I got my SP01 from CZC and and stress how impressed I am with the company and the work performed. Worth every dime.

I have the Burris FF3 on my Canik TP9SFX and its great. I got the 8 MOA and no regrets. It makes fast accurate shooting easy. Also put one on my 12 gauge pump shotgun. 8MOA equates to a 2" dot coverage @ 25 yards, many guys purchase the 2 or 3 MOA, way way too small for pistol shooting. The FF3 can be had on ebay for $186 delivered, where I purchased mine.  The FF3 has great reviews everywhere and a top battery cover, meaning you don't have to remove the unit to replace battery.

This is the place where i ordered my two FF3s. Fast delivery, solid seller:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Burris-300236-Fastfire-III-with-Picatinny-Mount-8-MOA-Sight-Black/231756839128?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

I have the shield/Jpoint mini sights on my Shadow 2 and my M&P 9l

the lenses are made of plastic and quite to my disappointment they are now both cloudy.

No matter what I do I can't get them "clear". they hold zero well and

they do sit low and I really like the 8moa on my M&P, that one is staying

but the 4moa washes out quite a bit, so I am replacing that with a 6moa Vortex Venom.

I have one on my ruger mark III and love it.

I’m trying the DPP on my SP01 shadow and so far so good.

the dot is easy to see in the AZ sun , even being the 2.5 MOA.

I've always wondered if they work out here. I have 6moa dots on everything, and I have to turn them up to the brightest setting, especially when sitting steel. Thanks for the info.

I was surprised too. Shooting a steel match tomorrow to continue working on it
