JatCarver
I’ve had good success with 77gr SMKs from a 18” AR but have a chance to buy 600 Lapua 77gr Scenars at a great price. The Scenars have a better BC and we’re designed to be loaded at mag length like the SMKs. That’s all I know. Anyone have any experince with the 77gr Scenars? 38superman
I can't say I have experience with the 77 gr Scenars, but I've had excellent results with the 69 gr Scenar-L. The 136 Scenar-L has been my go-to bullet in my 6.5 Creedmoor for years. If you can get 600 of the 77s at a good price, it's hard to see how you could go wrong. Bill Schwab
I compete is DMR and PRS with an AR and the 77 Scenar-L's shoot lights out in my uppers and that's what I compete with. SMK's where good, but Scenar-L's where better. But boy do you pay for those Scenar-L's!
sbfcolina2
Scenar are great rounds. I have had a few rifle that didn’t like them thou and wouldnt hold groups very well. I would try them out before buying in bulk. Also like said above the price is an issue for me.
Stuey
You can’t go wrong with the Lapua’s or the SMK. I have shot both out of my rifle and good results. If you can get them a lower price, go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
joelpend
The 77gr TMK is an excellent bullet however it is long so if loading to AR-15 mag length you have to choose a dense powder that does not overfill the case (ie TAC)
dauntedfuture
I have had good results w. all kinds of 77's but the Sierra SMK's were the easiest to get to shoot and w. fewer problems loading them compared to the TMKs. Berger and Laupa 77's also shot well. Not as good of results w. H75's
99mpower
Getting ready to load up a bunch of SMK or TMK with TAC/4895, for NRA/CMP. Do you like the SMK/TMK better? I've heard the TMKs can be "finicky" while loading?
Delfuego
TMK struggle with AR magazine length, that's the primary difficulty. 77smk are great. 80gr VLD are better, but need to be single loaded.
dauntedfuture
The TMKs end up getting seated deeper in the case so you might have to back down your load. Also, seating stem compatibility is more of an issue w. TMK than w. SMKs or other BTHPs
