obsessiveshooter
So I've been wanting to optimize my grips for a while. On my TS I have been running the wood factory grips with a panel of skateboard tape applied over them. It's worked fine but I wanted something more contoured and I wanted the grip tape to extend into all the contours instead of just the flat portion. I'm way too cheap to spend 75 to 130 on grips, so getting the LOK bogeys or Henning grips was not something I was likely to do. And, I really think grip tape is the ideal grip surface. So, I took the cz rubber Palm swell grips, cut them to fit my TS, cleaned them with acetone, applied jb weld with my finger (it was too thick to brush on), and sprinkled them with 60 grit silicon carbide ($13 shipped off amazon). The 60 grit is pretty much identical to skate tape grit level. I'm not the first to do this at all, but I hadn't heard anything about people doing this on the rubber grips. I think those CZ rubber Palm swell grips feel like perfection to a lot of people, but they don't use them because they don't work with sweaty hands. I don't have much use on my newly modified grips yet but it seems clear to me so far that the epoxy is going to hold really well to the rubber. I don't think I could improve on these grips now, at any cost. Since I took the rubber grips off my production gun, I went ahead and did the process on the plastic factory grips that it came with as well. They lack the palm swell, but now they have ideal functionality at almost zero cost. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Beef15
Nice. I did my G17 and have been planning to do my P120's panels almost ever since. Thanks for proving the concept.
Stuey
Those look really good, good job. You ought to do a step by step post on how others can do it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
