nipplehead
Having a Shadow 2 built for Carry Optics. As we know..making weight comes right down to the wire, but to be competitive more rounds are needed in the magazines . SO, What mag extensions and guts are the lightest..? Obviously we want as much capacity as possible..and of course fit the gauge. Realistically I need to be at least 20 + 1. 22 or 23 would be better. Suggestions or data? aandabooks
Guy I shoot with uses TTI extensions. He is getting 23+1.

aandabooks
No idea. He says he is underweight with them. We don't use a scale at our local matches but he shot a section match and he didn't get bumped to open.
ClangClang
On my scale: Standard MecGar 17 round magazine: 3.0 oz Same MecGar tube with Grams guts (follower, 11 coil spring), and TTI +4 basepad: 3.7 oz (23 rounds + 1 in the chamber) Edited July 23, 2018 by ClangClang
Red_Dot
My MecGar 17rnd tubes with Henning Group 140mm basepads and guts weigh 3.8oz. Holds 23+1 no problem. making weight with the Shadow2 isn’t all that hard but every .25oz matters
rowdyb
Henning base pads were the absolute lightest of all the ones I tried, then a mag tube with either their s&f or the one czc sells. I get 23 in a mag.

Smitty79
I have a bunch of Mec Gar 17 tubes that I'm trying to run for Carry Optics, in a Shadow, so weight hasn't been a problem. I have some with CZC base pads and some Taylor Freelance base pads. All of my CZC pads failed the gauge. only 1 of 4 TF pads passed without modification. Will the Henning pads work all the time? I've had no problem getting 23 rounds reloadable.
