Julien Boit
Hi all, I Recently put my hands on an Angstadt 9mm carbine. I noticed that the bolt carrier have some kind of weight pinned into it. What's the purpose of this ? Is it something to dampen recoil, or add mass to help feeding ? Thanks in advance. Link to comment

The rough magical weight in a blowback PCC for the combined weight of the bolt and buffer is 20oz's. A light buffer requires a heavier bolt. Balanced with the right spring weight and length.Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk Link to comment
SJMPCC022
I have a Spinta Precision bolt( it was a blem so a few bucks less, looks A ok to me) and it has a piece of round stock pinned into the BCG. I took it out to try a different buffer system but didn't like it so I put it back along with the old buffer and spring, which to date has been 100%. As stated above it adds weight to the BCG to balance between recoil back and feeding forward. I was under the impression all 9mm BCG's using a conventional buffer and spring had a weight pinned into the BCG ? Link to comment
gerritm
Depends on your buffer/spring combo and ammo PF. I am running the Taccom 3-stage buffer in 2- different PCC's. Both just making slightly over 125PF. One with his BCG without the weight & one with a Spinta BCG with the weight. Don't know what they weigh. But his without the weight feels great & dot stays flat and on target. The Spinta has a little more dot movement. I experimented with loads more than buffer spring combos to find the right one. gerritm Link to comment
Julien Boit
Did some weight measurements : Bolt itself is roughly 12 Oz. Insert is around 3.2 Oz. Buffer is 5.6 Oz. It seems that JP bolts runs without any added weight but has to be used with their Silent spring system. Link to comment

The hole JP cuts in them is a smaller diameter leaving more mass. Link to comment
