stick
Ram from your old laptop won't necessarily be the correct ram for your new laptop. You can use a site like Crucial.com to verify RAM type and capacity for both laptops. If the RAM is compatible, you might need to update your bios to ensure the new RAM is installed. gurutedd
Desktop memory is twice the size of laptop memory. You will need to get on a website or google memory upgrade for your laptop. If you need any help with this PM me and I will help you out.
MPF
Also, your laptop likely has a limit on how much total RAM it is capable of having installed (despite how many slots it has). Best check what type and capacity your laptop supports before buying anything.
