I've been having some shotgun issues with the Benelli Super Black Eagle I traded for on here a few years ago.  Until recently, I'd only used it for some dove hunting and clays.  In the two 3gun matches I've used it in, it just won't run consistently.  It will shoot 3-4 rounds and then fail to eject, feed or both.  With WInchester AA and Rio ammo.

So, I hit Kurt Miller up for some help and he bent over backwards yesterday sending me pics and instructions on how to get it running.  He doesn't know me from Adam, but he took the time to share his knowledge.

That is what it's all about!!

Thank you Kurt!!

I still love telling the story about Kurt DQ'ing me twice in ONE match...

I mean about Kurt allowing me to DQ myself TWICE in one match...

How do you DQ yourself TWICE in one match ?    :surprise:

It was a 3G match in MS...

1st stage I shot had you engaging rifle targets from one position and then running down a hill to engage pistol and shotgun targets in another area. Pistol was holstered with loaded mag inserted, chamber empty. (This was my first "major" Multigun match after having shot mostly just IDPA and some USPSA...)

Shot rifle. Grounded it. Took off down the hill. About 5-6 steps into my run, I felt my pistol start bouncing around in the holster and about the time I looked down it had cleared kydex and was headed to the ground.

Some discussion led to DQ since there was ammo in the gun even though it wasn't capable of going off...

Kurt was kind enough to allow me to shoot the rest of the match for no score.

On my last stage, you had to shoot shotgun first and then finish up stage with other firearms. Rules stipulated that long guns must be abandoned "on safe" and/or "empty". I was shooting Heavy so my scattergun was a pump. When I finished with the shotgun targets, I racked my shotgun open and grounded it and then went on to shoot the rest of the stage. When clearing my guns, we found that I still had a loaded shell on the lifter of the shotgun. Again, gun couldn't go bang since action was open, but there was a live round in it and the safety wasn't engaged.

Again, not tragically "unsafe", but earned my "2nd DQ" in a single match...

First problem was addressed by adding some tension to my holster; had never needed it in pistol matches.

Second problem was addressed by not being and idiot...
