paramajic4
Has anyone loaded the Hornady 75 grain HPBT at a 2.240 COL? I am looking to load it with 23 gr's of TAC. 2.240 is the max length I need to get it feed reliably from my PMAGS. Lyman manual say's 2.260 COL. I'm not looking for extreme accuracy, I am looking for a load to put the hurt on a MGM spinner target at 100 yds. Will the decreased COL make this round unsafe. TonytheTiger
23gr is not a hot load, you'll be fine at 2.24. But I've fed them at 2.258 out of Pmags just fine.

wgj3
Agree, you're still gonna be fine at that charge weight and OAL...
DIYguy
I load that bullet with 22.5 to 23.0 of AR-Comp powder, loaded at 2.243 COAL and 1.837 CBTO. Getting 2655 to 2705 fps @ 22.5 and 2716 to 2755 @ 23.0. Found I had FTFs when loaded to 2.25 COAL
