tswisher21
I am thinking about a micro dot for my sti dvc open. So what size dot do you like a big one or small one? I lean towards a larger one but I am open to a small dot. So what say you? Thanks Tim
ScottieShootz
I run small dots 4moa or 2moa. I don’t like having the dot cover up half the target or the steel plate. Currently running a Romeo
TRPOperator
The RTS2 is a 6 moa dot. It's not to small, but not so large it covers small targets. I find the smaller dots a little harder to find in bright light so it's a good compromise for me.

3gunDQ
6moa is what I use. The dot size Is personal preference of what you see based on where you are shooting from, what you like as a sight picture.

Nevadazielmeister
I hate to bring this up, but does it have anything to do with a person's eyesight and age? It seems to me, from my experience watching and talking with my friends, the older guys like a larger dot and the younger guys like a smaller dot. Not sure that is scientific, but it is worth thinking about. When I started wearing contact lens, changed my preference to a smaller dot.
Steve RA
Sure age has a bearing on it, also probably depends to some extent on the power of any vision aids someone wears.

I agree. I find that my point of impact shifts depending on whether I wear glasses or contacts.
alsipd
I never thought about this until now. I run an 8 moa on my USPSA open gun and a 3 moa on my Steel Challenge Rimfire open gun. Both work well for there respective application. Proves to me that one size does not fit all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Foxbat
I am 68yo, and when shooting I use readers with +1.25 power - gives me perfect focus both near and far. I settled on 8MOA years ago, and so far have not seen any reason to change it. RTS2, and I simply set it to maximum on sunny days.
Blurryvisions
I’m running leupold dpp with 2.5 Moa dots. For uspsa it’s fine but I prefer a 4-6 moa dot. Steel challange I go with 8 moa dots
