Spinners

Got a couple spinners at my next match.  Any reason not to use a mag of my 9 major ammo on the pesky rascals with my MPX??

Have you test fired major pf through it? I’m wondering if it cycles and feeds reliably.

Timing is the most important for spinners. I don't think you'll have a problem double or triple tapping with a PCC. You'll probably spin it right away.

 

Regular ammo is already making 145-155 pf out of a PCC anyway.

Just take a couple shots to get it moving then do a bill drill on it.

I use WEB 115gr and have no problem with spinners. 

 

I did a stage that was a spinner and a stop plate in 3.88 in a Tuesday Steel shoot a few weeks ago.

I should probably be clearer in my question.  I can spin them no issue with minor.  I'm more wondering if the extra pop of major would could make it faster.  Then again, I am already @ 145 so probably not worth messing around with it.  I am always too willing to make something simple, complex.

Have you tried it yet? I tried some of my open ammo just to see how it would shoot and I found it very unpleasant with a blowback gun. Might be better for your MPX. Unless you are running a SBR, I am guessing your open pistol ammo will be on the hot side. But there's more gas for the comp though.

Chuck.  Nope, have not fired any rounds throughs the MPX with my major loads yet.  It is is a very healthy round though.  Around 172-175 out of the Open pistol.  I wouldn't consider shooting it out of a blowback because, well, 185+ PF doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun or particularly healthy for a blowback  , but my MPX sees much less gain in velocity over my pistol and is way softer at any given PF.  I'm not inclined to mess with it at all though unless there is some competitive advantage to shooting big boy rounds.  Max clearly makes the point though that the 140ish PF I normally run out of the MPX will get a spinner over quickly enough if I do my part.  Big if, but still...  You are right though.  Lets see someone say the comp doesn't work on a PCC with that ammo!!  

 

David, I think the weapon would be fine at major PF.  I know a local shooter (and he is here on BE) who has shot 15K plus out of an MPX at around 165 power factor with no ill effect.
