TFT_Guns_Up
So I’m looking at sights for my 929. I want to keep them similar to my Glock 34 that I use for competition. It has a Red Fiber Optic Front with a Serrated blacked out rear. I like what Speed Beez has to offer, however I’m not sure what type of front sight to order.... Pinned or Spring Loaded. What’s the difference between the Black and Stainless finish on those sights Thanks In Advance
MWP
Your 929 sight is pinned. But in a worst case scenario a spring loaded front can easily become a pinned sight.
jdk62738super
The 929 is a pinned sights. but the sight from speed beez has to be drilled. I have them on both my
Toolguy
Any new pinned sight has to be drilled because the mounting holes on the guns are not all in the same place. They wander around a bit.
TFT_Guns_Up
So I’m looking at this Fiber Optic Sight https://www.speedbeez.com/product/lpa-txt-target-blade-rear-sight-fiber-with-optic-front-sight-set-smith-wesson-revolver-black-finish/ Will the Rear Sight drop onto the 929 Frame? PatJones
Dawson front sights give a better sight picture. The fiber is recessed.https://dawsonprecision.com/s-w-pinned-fiber-optic-front-sights/I have given up on aftermarket rear sights for my Smiths. I liked the rear sight blade that comes with the 929s, but I make due with a .160 high rear blade.

Yes, that will fit a 929 or any modern Smith Revolver.
TFT_Guns_Up
Awesome! So I ordered that sight. What’s involved with removing the old sight? I see one screw holding it in place

roundabout
Anybody try the Bowen Rough Country rear sight on the 929? If so what height do you need for the 929? Definitely going to try the Dawson front sight; one should be here this week. I ordered a 0.245”. What I’m shooting now is a little high with the rear sight bottomed out with a 0.230”. The Bowen Rough Country rears are excellent - You cant go wrong with a .400 tall on a 929.

I take it you run this sight? Any opinion on the white outline versus plain blade?
alecmc
Just now, roundabout said: Duly noted. I take it you run this sight? Any opinion on the white outline versus plain blade? I run the bowen on all my iron sight competition revolvers, they are beefy, rugged, and can take a good whack on a fence or something and will be fine. I prefer, and most other shooters I know, the plain black rear
