Miranda
from all I can tell by what I have done and read at castboolits... the lead bullets and the ammo made... are best fit to the firearm you plan to use. there has to be a better way to say that. I tend to make things fat and assume the ammo will work If yer fatties don't plunk,,,, then you have to create a new recipe my ammo works in my pistol and my cousin's and from all I have read, I do not think they will be good in some of the 9mm revolvers I have read about here. I keep my batches in separate boxes and I hope no one mixes them when I am not looking. ... I can't tell hp-38 from the (.... I hope I remember it right) vv 320 I tried. they all look alike. learning powder coating may be a good idea. miranda

That's where I'm headed tomorrow first thing. Thanks.

I'll see if that will give me more wiggle room in my loads instead of having to make separate 9mm loads for each gun. If his finding is that I need to make two separate loads than so be it. The most important thing is to get this second gun to run 'easily'. Even if that's not with resized bullets. Edited June 22, 2018 by Bench
Miranda
Hi bench, I have given this advice before. a barrel that slugs out at 357 is a 38 not a 9mm and you will need to do a bit of mix and match with your dies to avoid swaging your 358 bullets to 356. the 38 funnel... the short one as I recall for expansion and avoid the 9mm FCD die for lead bullets. one fellow here was loading for a 9mm revolver. he needed fat bullets and was hunting for federal cartridge headstamped cases I assume he is happy and he has not said any thing that I have read looking for additional help. (I am not always here reading... so I may have missed it) he may have posted everything runs great ( and I missed that too) miranda

I've been tossing Aquila brass just on principle for a while anyway.
Miranda
... all the usual suspects... I've found the cases make a difference. I will not state I measured them all. of what I have, the FC headstamps are what I save for my fat bottomed girls. (lead boolits I cast and sized) one of the few that surprised me, was S&B for case mouth thickness. I use any case that are not FC for my jacketed bullets. this is also a consideration of what is available. If I had found out that Norma headstamps were the best for this I would use second best... 'cause I have 8 or so of them... the search function on this forum is pretty effective. hmmmm.... I'd try hunting 9mm and boolits or perhaps 9mm revolver. miranda
Steve RA
l use Winchester brass for 9mm. Works very well with the Precision .358 125 gr Flat Points.
