igolfat8
I recently installed a Dawson magwell on a Para 14-45. The stock (made in Canada) mag bases hit the white plastic insert in the magwell and mags won’t go in far enough to engage the mag catch / release. I tried Aradondo bases and have same issue. The mags work with the white plastic insert removed. I can’t bevel or remove any material from the mag bases because it would weaken the mag base attachment area that slides onto the mag lips. Anyone have any suggestions? Edited June 19, 2018 by igolfat8

Anyone have any suggestions? Try to find some of the older dawson tooless basepads for para. It looks like dawson stopped making them. 2 versions are shown below. igolfat8
Thx but at the bottom it says: Will only work with 2012 Para magazines. These magazines will say 'Made in Italy' on them. My mags are early mags made in Canada. Dawson said they don’t have any bases that will work. Edited June 19, 2018 by igolfat8

ParaGunner
I've sanded several stock para basepads to fit with the ice magwell years ago, I even attached a brass weight to them to drop and seat the mag better. They have never broke and still work today.
